The Information Systems program at UOWM KDU Penang is a 3-year programme recognised and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College is collaborating with IBM Malaysia and their educational delivery partner, Teknoturf, to set up the IBM Innovation Centre for Education (ICE) to offer a series of professional certification programs.

For Bachelor of Information Systems (Hons), students can choose either a Diploma in IoT (i.e. internet-of-things) or a Diploma in Retail Informatics as their professional certification program under IBM ICE. Students will complete 4 IBM modules as part of their computing bachelor degree program to receive an additional professional award from the IBM Innovation Centre.

Education Pathway

Students after SPM or IGCSE O-Levels with at least 5 credits including Maths & Physics may enter into the Foundation in Science or Foundation in Arts for 1 year before continuing on to the 3-year Information Systems degree.

Alternatively, students with at least 3 credits in SPM or IGCSE O-Levels including Maths and 1 Science subject may enter the Diploma in Information Technology (IT) for 2.5 years and then upon completion enter into Year 2 of the Information Systems degree for another 2 years.
