In addition to your tuition fees, you should allow enough funds to cover living expenses for the duration of your studies. The cost of living in Newcastle is among the lowest in the UK. The amount you will need depends on your lifestyle, but we estimate that the minimum amount required by a single student to cover basic living expenses (e.g. accommodation, heating, food) is around £800 per month.  If you are studying a programme at our School of Design London Campus the estimated minimum amount is £1000 per month.

accommodation. Two large residential developments have recently opened, and there is a plentiful supply of privately rented flats and houses in Newcastle. Future developments include new student accommodation of almost 1,000 en-suite rooms in Gateshead, which will be available from September 2014.

Weekly prices range from £84.49 to £112.28 for self-catering accommodation (the more expensive rooms are en suite) and from £123.83 for fully catered accommodation.

Entry Requirements

Students completing their A-Levels, AUSMAT, Foundation, or other Pre-University courses should apply early so that you can book the accommodation and flight as well as get apply for the Visa.

Diploma graduates can generally transfer into the final year of the related degree but it will depend on the final exemptions. Students must submit their transcripts, SPM Certificate, and a filled up Application Form to Northumbria for the exemption exercise.

Although some courses have specific requirements for entry, Northumbria will consider any qualification for entry to its courses.
