These are some of the scholarships for Malaysians that I found by just Googling. I am not going to list all the scholarships available here on the blog as it is not the purpose of this blog. Remember to apply early, fill out your forms clearly, write well and prepare yourselves for the interview. There will be many people applying for the same scholarships as well so you must prepare well. Just because you have good academic results won’t guarantee you the scholarship. List down all your extra-curricular activities as they will help. Good luck!
MACC Scholarship 2012
Launched in 2001, with the first batch of scholarships awarded in 2002, the aim of the Malaysia Australia Colombo Plan Commemoration (MACC) Scholarships is to provide Malaysian and Australian students the opportunity to experience diverse cultures through sponsored education. The MACC is built on the spirit of the Colombo Plan which enabled some 4,000 young Malaysians to study in Australia from the 1950s until the 1980s. The MACC Scholarships take the Colombo Plan a step further by providing a two-way exchange of scholars between Malaysia and Australia. The scholarships include full or partial waivers of tuition fees and are offered to Malaysian and Australian students to undertake their education at universities and institutions of higher learning in each others’ countries.
The MAAC Scholarship Program is spear headed and coordinated by The Malaysian Australian Alumni Council (The MAAC), a national organization for Malaysian Alumni Associations of Australian Universities, with the support of The Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur and Australian Trade Commission (Austrade).
IDP Education Australia in Malaysia administers all the MACC Australian-bound scholarships offered by participating Australian institutions. Since its inception in 2001, about more than 250 students have been awarded the MACC Scholarships worth more than RM5 million. The MACC scholarships program is into its 10th year in 2012 with the first batch of scholarships awarded on the 5th February 2002 in Kuala Lumpur and since then had more than 250 recipients studied in Australian and Malaysian educational institutions.
In general, MACC Scholarships contributions consists of partial or full tuition fee sponsorship from contributing Universities. This includes specific or general undergraduate and/or post graduate programs.
IDP Education has been appointed as administrators of the MACC scholarship for 2012. For information on institutions offering scholarships and application procedures please visit: http://www.emaac.org/
