The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2012/2013
The world rankings for the best universities have been published by Times Higher Education today. Below is the full list of the Top
2oo. Making it to the top is California Institute of Technology, USA with Oxford coming in at 2nd. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) which was ranked no. 1 recently by the QS rankings comes in at no. 5.
The USA has the most universities in the rankings with 76, the UK comes in second with 31 universities and Netherlands third with 12 and Germany close with 11. Australia has 8 universities in the Top 200 led by the University of Melbourne at 28th place. Australian National University (ANU) is the next Australian university at no. 37 improving by one spot from last year’s rankings. University of Sydney is the third Australian university at 62 with the University of Queensland following closely at 65. With a campus in Malaysia, Monash University barely makes it into the Top 100 at 99th placing.
Another university with a campus in Malaysia, the University of Nottingham, UK is ranked at 120 and the University of Southampton opening up a campus at Iskandar Johor is ranked 130. Not one Malaysian university made it into the Times Highe Education World University rankings.
Nanyang Technological University in Singapore jumped 83 places to 86th, due to significant research funding increase. The
National University of Singapore (NUS) is ranked at an impressive 29th placing.
Trinity College of Dublin from Ireland made it at 110th placing.
