SPM and IGCSE students may apply for the Merit Scholarship Awards for the February and subsequent intakes at Asia Pacific University and APIIT in Malaysia. Scholarships are also available for graduates from A-Levels, STPM, UEC, CIMP, and IB with good results. Full scholarships are limited with interview required. SPM, UEC and STPM students from schools in Sabah and Sarawak are eligible for a 15% discount off tuition fees at APU. Current National and State Players in sports are eligible for scholarships as well. The APU Scholarships & Merit Awards are awarded for the entire duration of the course. If you secure your APU Scholarship & Merit Award for Foundation or Diploma Programme, your Scholarship Award will continue until completion of your degree, provided you meet the minimum CGPA requirement on annual basis. For example, if you secure a 50% Scholarship based on your 9A’s in SPM, your discount will be 50% for your Foundation Programme and 50% for the entire 3 years (Non-Engineering) or 4 years (Engineering) Degree Programme. You will need to maintain a CGPA of 3.3 each year.
For example, if you secure a 30% Scholarship based on your 7A’s in SPM, your discount will be 30% for your Foundation Programme and 30% for the entire 3 years (Non-Engineering) or 4 years (Engineering) Degree Programme. All scholarships offered by APU/APIIT are subject to the following terms and conditions as stated below:
1. All applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements & maintain the CGPA specified in order to enjoy the scholarship in the subsequent years (where relevant). Failure to meet such academic requirement will result in the scholarship terminated/ suspended.
2. All scholarships offered by APU/APIIT to any student are at the absolute discretion of Scholarship Committee.
3. Scholarships are limited to course/tuition fees only. All other fees & expenses including library fees, registration fees, accommodation fees, deposits, Staffordshire University fees, student ID, resit or retake fees, living and travel expenses; as determined by the scholarship award shall be borne by the scholarship holder.
4. Scholarship awards are not transferable or exchangeable for cash either in part or in full.
5. All the Scholarship Applications must fulfill the Scholarship Academic Entry Requirements with actual results.
6. The University reserves the right to decide on the number of scholarships to be awarded for each programme.
7. All 50% and 40% Scholarships recipients would be expected to contribute to the APU/APIIT Community through participation in Exhibition, Roadshows, Open Days, Student ARC, Student Welcome Team or any other activities as assigned by the institution.
8. Scholarship recipients will be required to sign an agreement accepting the terms and conditions of the scholarship. Recipients who fail to comply with all the terms and conditions of the scholarship will be required to pay back in full the total scholarship value awarded to him / her by APU/APIIT.
9. Scholarship holders must practice exemplary behavior and read, understand and comply with all rules, regulations and requirements as stipulated by the Rules & Regulations and Professional Code of Conduct of APU/APIIT.
10. Scholarship holders should attend regularly, diligently and without fail all classes, lectures, tutorials and lessons required by the course or programme of study.
11. Meet all requirements pertaining to completion of assignments, projects and examinations as required by the course of study.
12. All scholarships are applicable for studies at APU/APIIT in Malaysia only and are not applicable for study at overseas partner universities.
