Growing Worldwide IT Cloud Services Business To Benefit Malaysia

worldwide information technology (IT) cloud services, said Multimedia Development Corp (MDeC).
MDeC said according to a recent research conducted by the International Data Corp (IDC), worldwide revenue from public IT cloud services exceeded RM69.4 billion in 2010 and was expected to reach RM235.5 billion next year.
“The rapid growth is positively affecting the Malaysian cloud business which is poised to generate a revenue of RM1.5 billion by 2015.
“It is predicted that by 2017, most Malaysian organisations will be using cloud services from different suppliers to meet various business needs and this will change the way business goals can be achieved,” it said in a statement today.
MDeC chief executive officer, Ng Wan Peng, said cloud was definitely on the rise in Malaysia.
Ng said this at the 2014 MSC Malaysia Cloud Computing Conference yesterday.
MDeC said the conference attracted over 300 participants including the industry leaders who shared their expertise in the business and cloud computing ecosystem as the panels.
“The conference is designed to be platform that allows industry players to fully reap the benefits of the cloud service model by discussing key technical and business issues shaping cloud computing,” it said.
