Electrical & Electronic Engineering Degree at KDU University College Utropolis Glenmarie Complies with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
KDU University College Utropolis Glenmarie is committed to providing you with high quality programmes that comply with the standards set

by the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM). You can expect a curriculum which is design-centric and that emphasises complex problem-solving skills.
This means you enjoy valuable hands-on experience by participating in a design project during the course. You even have the chance to become a research assistant at undergraduate level through KDU’s undergraduate research scheme.
There is also a twelve-week industrial training session to enhance your employability before you graduate. In short, KDU’s engineering programmes are designed to address the needs of the new industrial economy with the aim of producing engineers who are prepared for the challenges around the globe.

According to Dr. Matthew Teow, Head of the School, all of their programmes comply with the standards set by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), and prospective students can expect a curriculum that is design-centric and which emphasises complex problem-solving skills.
“Furthermore, a faculty is only as good as its staff. Hence, we have also brought together a team of dedicated and talented educators from across the relevant disciplines to promote excellence in the science and practice of engineering,” he added.
Dr. Teow explained as well that his School’s students would undergo a 12-week industrial training stint before they graduate.

This can be conducted with one of the SOE’s many industry partners, such as Maxis, DiGi, Intel, Motorola, Western Digital, Flextronics and Schneider Electric, among others.
“The SOE’s dedication to innovation is another factor that makes us stand out. We are proud to be the first engineering school in Malaysia to have every member of the teaching faculty Level 1 TRIZ-certified,” said Dr. Teow.
“Additionally, right from the first day of all our home-grown degree programmes, we have a dedicated subject that tasks students to design engineering products or devices. These are then showcased at our bi-annual Engineering Fair where cash prizes of at least RM1,000 are given to those with the best creations,” he said.
KDU University College’s SOE and its graduates command a degree of respect among practitioners in the industry too. Dr. Teow said that in general, employers perceive the School’s alumni to be technically competent, responsible, trustable and in possession of the right attitude.
“This is reflected in our School’s impressive employability statistics of having 90% of our students securing employment within three months of graduating, and 100% of them either successfully getting a job or furthering their studies within six months of course completion,” he added.
