The achievement of First City University College’s AUSMAT students in their final examination did not come as a surprise

“We have always known that our students will pass with flying colours as we have seen their potential from the start. Having lecturers who are passionate about teaching and with vast teaching experience is another reason why our students excelled in the examination,” said Jenny.

Students Tan WeiJie, Illaggo Periannan, Lim Wei Ren and Nurul Hafizah binti Mat Kamil emerged with the highest Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) scores of 99.90, 98.9, 97.85 and 97.55 accordingly.

They and the other high achievers in AUSMAT examination sang praises of their lecturers who have journeyed with them on the road to success.

Tan who is now doing a bridging programme in Germany said: “Our lecturers are always there when we need them. They are totally approachable and well- versed in their field of expertise”.

The 20-year-old who is planning to embark on his engineering career upon graduation also talked highly on KBU’s teaching and learning facilities and ISO-certified library.

Nurul Hafizah concurred with Tan and said: “Certain AUSMAT subjects such as Mathematics and Physics are definitely difficult compared with A-levels programme. But, through the proper guidance and individualised attention from our lecturers, we have made it through the examination”.

She added that she is proud of her achievement and contented that all her hard work finally paid off.

“I am now preparing for my bridging programme in Germany but until this moment it all feels like a dream to me, “said the elated 20-year-old.
