Examination Structure

Our AUSMAT programme maintains a structured path, encompassing five subjects throughout its duration. This curriculum embraces a balanced evaluation approach, combining 70% college-based assessment with 30% external assessment. You’ll seamlessly manage continuous assessments across subjects, with school-based assessments sent for moderation by the SACE Board of South Australia.

Notably, each subject’s continuous assessment holds the potential to contribute up to 70% of your total grade. Strive for consistency in your work while valuing the 30% final examination component. The culmination of assessments and grades culminates in the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)* upon program completion.

The Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) derives from a student’s final results. Calculated from the four highest scoring subjects and 50% from the 5th highest, ATAR functions as a rank, not a mere mark. It quantifies your academic accomplishment relative to peers. For instance, an ATAR of 90 reflects outperforming 90% of your program counterparts.
