Taylor’s University achieved yet another international success when United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) awarded the TedQual certification to the university, making it the only university in Malaysia to receive this highest accreditation for excellence by the United Nations.
Taylor’s University was recognised for its Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Management academic programmes and researches, joining 52 other renowned universities around the world, such as George Washington University, USA, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and University of Queensland, Australia.

United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Awards the TedQual Certification to Taylor’s University in Recognition of the Quality of the Faculty of Hospitality, Food and Leisure Management

UNWTO is the United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism. UNWTO TedQual Certification System aims to encourage the improvement of the quality of tourism education, trainings and research programmes at worldwide level. It composes of a series of evaluation criteria, aim to measure the effectiveness of a university’s tourism education, training and research programmes, as well as to what extent it cover the needs of the tourism sector, civil society and the students.
Professor Michael Driscoll, Taylor’s University Vice Chancellor and President is elated with the news, adding that this news came just a couple of months after Taylor’s was ranked 21 in the whole world for Hospitality and Leisure Management by QS World University Ranking by Subject.

“Receiving this international recognition by UNWTO speaks volume of our distinctive strengths – the outstanding teaching quality, significant impactful researches conducted by our academicians, and the quality of graduates we produced. I would like to congratulate my colleagues in the Faculty of Hospitality, Food and Leisure Management for this yet another outstanding milestone.
