LEVEL UP KL hosted the SEA Game Awards for the 4th year in running in 2020! The awards aim to recognize and celebrate the creativity, artistry and technical genius of the finest developers and games from around this region in addition to upholding creative and technical excellence in the Southeast Asian video game industry!
All together, 10 award categories are up for grabs for outstanding, artistic, creative, technical and gameplay achievements by SEA game IPs. University of Wollongong Malaysia KDU‘s game design students did Malaysia proud by winning the Best Student Game & Audience Choice Award in SEA Game Awards 2020 with the game “Don’t Stop the Party”. Another game, Blood Moon Genesis, also made by UOWM KDU students, made into the Top 40 finalists of 2020 SEA Game Awards.
University of Wollongong Malaysia (UOWM) KDU is offering the Bachelor of Game Development (Hons) and Foundation Studies (Art and Technology) programmes. In addition, the Game Development degree at UOWM KDU course aims to cultivate high quality graduates familiar with production processes and aware of what is needed to produce successful games.
In addition, making into the Top 40 Finalists is P.U.D.U (Project Unifying Dead Underworld) – is a futuristic horror VR game made by Malaysia’s Top Ranked Multimedia University (MMU) Virtual Reality (VR) Students.

SEA Game Awards 2020 Winners

As Level Up PLAY continues, we’ve had the awards presentation for the SEA Game Awards 2020. The event was a showcase for great talent from across the SEA region.
The winners for this year’s SEA Game Awards were incredibly diverse, representing Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. They included prestigious studios such as Streamline Studios, as well as many smaller teams such as Cellar Vault Games’ Short Creepy Tales: 7PM.
On top of that, we had a good showing of student work as well, with UOW Malaysia KDU‘s students winning way more than just the Best Student Game category, even going so far as to charm the audience into giving them the Audience Choice Award.
