Research Clusters

In the School of Computing and IT (SoCIT) research culture is deeply entrenched within their teaching philosophy that enriches the knowledge exchange that takes place in the classroom. By using real research examples and industry case studies in the classroom, the lecturers are able to inspire students to adopt a research-driven approach to problem-solving. Apart from External and Internal Research grants, staff in the last couple of years have worked on consultancy projects under the MSC Malaysia Innovation voucher programme worth about RM100,000 in total.

Staff involve students in research and consultancy that they are actively engaged. They take every opportunity through the modules they teach to identify prospective students who could participate and can be groomed in research and consultancy that they are engaged. Undergraduate students in association with staff have published several research papers in cited International Conferences and Journals. A couple of these students have also acquired travel grants to participate and present their paper at International Conferences.
