There is also a twelve-week industrial training session to enhance your employability before you graduate. In short, KDU’s engineering programmes are designed to address the needs of the new industrial economy with the aim of producing engineers who are prepared for the challenges around the globe.

According to Dr. Matthew Teow, Head of the School, all of their programmes comply with the standards set by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), and prospective students can expect a curriculum that is design-centric and which emphasises complex problem-solving skills.
“Furthermore, a faculty is only as good as its staff. Hence, we have also brought together a team of dedicated and talented educators from across the relevant disciplines to promote excellence in the science and practice of engineering,” he added.
Dr. Teow explained as well that his School’s students would undergo a 12-week industrial training stint before they graduate.
This can be conducted with one of the SOE’s many industry partners, such as Maxis, DiGi, Intel, Motorola, Western Digital, Flextronics and Schneider Electric, among others.
“The SOE’s dedication to innovation is another factor that makes us stand out. We are proud to be the first engineering school in Malaysia to have every member of the teaching faculty Level 1 TRIZ-certified,” said Dr. Teow.

Electrical & Electronics Engineering Lab – With 8 electrical, electronic and communication- specific labs around, students have all the resources to execute their projects. KDU dedicates over 12,000 square feet of spaces solely for the Engineering centre with state-of-the-art workshop facilities and equipment.
Mechanical Engineering Lab – Students are provided work spaces over 6 specialised mechanical and mechatronics labs.
