Established in 1993, Asia Pacific University (APU) is famous in Malaysia for its Information Technology (IT) courses as it has won hundreds of awards in this area. After setting the quality and standard for its ICT courses, the university has expanded its range of courses step-by-step throughout the years to include accounting, business & finance, engineering, and design.

The university has more than 12,000 students coming from over 100 countries. 60% of its students are international students giving the campus a very international flavour. This is advantageous to Malaysian students who want to learn in a global environment in order to compete in the multinational work force of the future. In addition, it forces Malaysian students to improve their English while communicating with the international students.

Students at APU have to wear formal wear to inculcate a sense of professionalism. It is an important mindset to possess when entering the job market.

There have been comments on forums that the lecturers at APU are not good any more however there is no evidence of that. My opinion is that if the university can win more than 100 awards, it shows that the standard of teaching by the lecturers are pretty good to be able to train the students to win these awards. If the lecturers are so bad, the students would not have been able to win any awards.
