Course Information for the Diploma in Hotel Management at YTL-ICH for Students after SPM or IGCSE/O-Levels

The Diploma in Spa Management caters to equipping students with the appropriate disciplines to embark on a career in spa management. Modules offered in this programme are business knowledge, treatment techniques and therapy. This programme is specially tailored for students to be introduced to a broad range of academic disciplines including Accounting, Principles of Spa Management, Professionalism in Spa, Staff Management and Spa Operations.

Students will be given the opportunity to train in spas located within the group’s five-star luxury brand hotels. This training programme is facilitated by experienced lecturers. A duration of six months is allocated for industry placement.

The YTL-ICHM Diploma is designed to provide students with comprehensive management and technical skills for a successful career in the hospitality industry.

Acquire in-depth knowledge and transferable skills in hospitality leadership, management, strategy and operations.

Students will study all major aspects of the hospitality industry, matching sound theoretical knowledge with a range of specialised, technical and managerial skills.

In partnership with Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS), students will complete the syllabus provided at YTL-ICHM and shall be awarded the YTL-ICHM Diploma in Hotel Management together with the Swiss International Hospitality Certificate in Hotel Management upon completion.

Intakes

Main intakes for the Diploma in Hotel Management at YTL-ICHM are in February, May, August,  and October of each year.

Preparatory intakes are in April and July.

What is the Education Pathway for the Diploma in Spa Management at YTL-ICHM?

Students will need at least 3 credits in SPM or IGCSE/O-Levels to join the 2.5-year diploma. UEC students with at least 3B’s may join the Diploma as well.

Upon completion of the Diploma, graduates are guaranteed a job at one of YTL’s hotels and resorts.

Alternatively, students may transfer to another private university to enter Year 2 of the related degree or complete the degree in only 1 year overseas.

What are the Entry Requirements?

SPM

• Pass in SPM with a minimum of 3 credits in any subject, with a pass in Bahasa Melayu & Sejarah or its equivalent

UEC

• A minimum of 3Bs in any subject

IGCSE/O-LEVEL

• A minimum of 3 credits in any subject, or its equivalent

SKM/CERTIFICATE

• Pass in SKM Level 3/Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field or its equivalent

Recognition and Accreditation

YTL-ICHM is approved by the Ministry of Education to offer diploma programmes that are recognised and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
