Taylor’s University has taken the 49th spot in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings Top 50 for “young universities” below 50 years old. This makes Taylor’s the only Malaysian private university to achieve a place on the coveted global higher education analysts’ 2021 edition.

Taylor’s has earlier broken into the top 400 at number 379 on the QS World University Rankings, making it the No.1 private university in Malaysia and South-East Asia with an outstanding performance of having climbed 135 spots from the previous year.

QS Top 50 Under 50 2021 – Find Out the Rankings of Malaysian Universities

Nanyang Technological University continues to be the top young university in the world according to the QS Top 50 Under 50, a table exclusively for the world’s younger academic institutions.

First published in 2012, the QS Top 50 Under 50 ranks the best universities in the world which are under 50 years old, allowing some of the world’s top young universities to shine. Since 2015, it has tripled its range to include the Next 100 Under 50.

Unlike other university rankings, the Top 50 Under 50 and the Next 100 Under 50 see a vast amount of change each year, as universities drop out of the list after they pass the 50-year marker.

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) makes its debut into the top ten list of the world’s best universities under fifty years of age in the 2021 edition of the QS Top 50 Under 50 Rankings released today by global higher education analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

Besides UPM, two other Malaysian universities featured in the rankings’ top 100 are Universiti Teknologi Petronas (61-70 band) and Universiti Utara Malaysia (81-90 band). UPM shares the 10th position with Finland’s Aalto University.

The top 3 private universities in Malaysia in the QS Top 50 Under 50 2021 are Taylor’s University, UCSI University and Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP). Ranked 14th, University of Wollongong, Australia had recently partnered with KDU to become the University of Wollongong (UOW) Malaysia KDU.
