How to Transfer credits from Diploma into Degree Year 2
Most diplomas can be transferred to another private university into the Year 2 of the relevant programme. If you have taken the Diploma in Accounting, it is highly likely that you can enter into Year 2 of the degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance.
For the Diploma in Business Administration, you can enter into Year 2 of the degree in Business Administration depending on the exemptions.
However, if you go from the Diploma in Business Administration into the Degree in Accounting, then you may not get the optimum amount of exemptions because the subjects in your diploma are not similar with the degree course of the university that you want to transfer to.
First, you will need to have completed your diploma course so that you can give the documents to the university of interest for evaluation for exemptions. Talk to their counselor and find out the details and process.
Secondly, you will need to contact the Course Coordinator at your current college to get them to send over the Course Outline, Course Syllabus and Transcripts for all the subjects to the Counselor from the university of interest. You will also need to get a Letter of Completion from your college to be sent to them. In addition, your secondary school results need to be given to the university as well.
Third, after sending over all the documents, you will need for them to perform the evaluation. It may take a week to a month.
Fourth, after you have received the exemption results, you can ask the counselor what is the remaining duration that you have to complete the degree as well as the tuition fees.
Fifth, if you are satisfied, you can then proceed to register.
When can I begin to Transfer?
You can only begin to transfer after you have completed your diploma course. You will need to request from your current college the Course Outline and Course Syllabus as well as your transcripts for all the subjects to be sent to the private university that you are interested to join for them to evaluate for exemptions.
