Foundation in Engineering Science & Technology

First City UC students can expect to master the basic principles of engineering, science and technology by the end of this one-year programme (three semesters).
During Foundation classes they will also be educated on the social and ethical implications in the field of science, engineering and technology.
This programme equips students with strong fundamentals and skills for either Engineering or Computing. Students study modules that are focused to ensure their progression towards obtaining a professional qualification in Engineering or Computing. They will also be trained to use relevant industrial hardware and software necessary for their progression to our bachelor’s degree programmes in Engineering or Computing.
In addition, the Foundation in Engineering Science & Technology programme aims to equip students with interpersonal and communication skills in a group working environment, which is especially important as they will need to familiarise themselves with assignments in a lab setting during their Bachelor Degree studies.

In order to to hone their problem-solving skills, they will be given scenarios that will require critical thinking skills. Starting from the second semester, students will be given the option of choosing the Engineering or Computing pathway.

The BBA Hospitality Management Degree programme at First City University College (First University UC) equips students with knowledge and industry-relevant management and operational skills for the global hospitality and tourism industry. First City University College has everything an art & design student needs to equip him/her with the skill sets required of a professional designer in Malaysia. First City University College campus has a built up area of 250,000 sq.ft. and has a comprehensive range of facilities for students.
The Faculty of Engineering and Computing at First City University College provides students with the latest in learning experience through the use of state-of-the-art facilities. Students are inspired and motivated through a hands-on approach in the teaching of engineering and computing.
Students will have use of advanced software tools such as Mainframe Computing Technology and Mentor Graphics of Electronic Design Automation (EDA). Furthermore, there are 19 State-of-the-art engineering and computing laboratories.
There are seven Engineering Laboratories, which are well-equipped to meet the stringent requirements of First City University College’s Partner Universities and The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
The engineering laboratories include the Digital Power & Control Laboratory, the Microprocessor & Electronic CAD Laboratory, Mechatronics Laboratory and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Laboratory. The Computer Centre maintains the campus-wide network based on the Windows platform. In the E-Info Lab, students enjoy high speed access to the Internet and its resources.
Wireless connection to the campus network has been installed and implemented. The Centre also houses the Multimedia Laboratory, Macintosh Laboratory and CAD Laboratory. There are two digital language labs equipped with 50 microcomputers installed with CD-ROM based programme-ware for English learning.
