Entry Requirements into UCSI University Doctor of Medicine (MD) course 

STPM / A-Levels (Other colleges) (Science stream)

Grade B in Chemistry, Biology & Maths. or Physics (All subjects must pass in one sitting)

UEC (Science stream)

Grade B3 in Chemistry, Biology & Maths. or Physics (All subjects must pass in one sitting)

UCSI Foundation in Science

Min. 3B in Chemistry (I & II), Maths (All), Biology (I & II) / Physics
Min CGPA 3.5 and above (All subjects must pass in one sitting.)

Local Matriculation / Pre-Medical Programme

CGPA 3.5 and above in Chemistry, Biology and Maths/Physics.

Other Qualifications (SAM / CPU / HSC)

85% in Chemistry, Biology and Maths/Physics.

SPM

For students after SPM and interested to enter into UCSI’s Foundation in Science leading into the MD programme, you must have a Min 4B for Maths, Additional Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

English Requirements for the Medical programme at UCSI University

B+ in English 1119 / ‘O’ Levels, MUET Band 5, a score of 213 (computer-based), 550 (written-based), 79 – 80 (Internetbased) in TOEFL or Band 6 in IELTS

3B or 2A1C or 1A1B1C in Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Maths with “B” in Chemistry. Malaysian students must pass Bahasa Melayu and English with Grade C in SPM or equivalent.

(With reference to the Score system of the Universities and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS) carried out at United Kingdom for A-level result with score of A+ = 140, A=120, B=100 and C=80)

  • 3B proposed by LFM is equal to the total score of 300 with B for Chemistry subject.

STPM

CGPA 3.00 and above with ‘B’ in Chemistry.

  • Malaysian students must pass Bahasa Melayu and English with Grade C in SPM or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum Band 4 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

Matriculation or Pre-Study in Medicine and Pharmacy / Foundation in Science

CGPA 3.0 and above with minimum “B” in Chemistry. or

  • Must have a minimum Band 4 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

Additional Requirements

  • All candidates directed into Year 1 will have to undergo an interview and a Chemistry quiz before being accepted into the programme.
  • English Requirements: MUET – Band 4; TOEFL 570 (overall & in each section) to be obtained before admission.
  • A Level students who sit for January exam to apply with actual results in March.

Entry requirements into MAHSA University’s MBBS programme

  • MAHSA Foundation in Science: CGPA 3.0 in 3 subjects, i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Maths and course not less than 1 yr and comply with minimum entry for SPM (5Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths (or Add Maths) and another subject).
  • STPM / A-Level: Grade BBB, ABC, AAC in 3 subjects, i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Maths.
  • Matriculation: CGPA 3.0 in 3 subjects, i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Maths and course not less than 1 yr and comply with minimum entry for SPM (5Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths (or Add Maths) and another subject).
  • Diploma: Diploma in Health Sciences, CGPA 3.5 and course not less than 5 sem or 2 1/2 yrs and coply with minimum entry for SPM (5Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths (or Add Maths) and another subject).
  • UEC : ‘B4′ each in 5 subjects, i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Add Maths.

  • Matriculation:
    UIAM : Min CGPA 3.00.Other Matriculations, min CGPA 3.00 for 3 science subjects or maths.
    ** Matriculation, min CGPA 3.0 with B for Chemistry (Malaysia Pharmacy Board requirement)
  • Foundation in Science:
    min CGPA 3.00 and Grade B for three subjects including chemistry.

  •  IB : Min Score 30 for three subjects including chemistry (2 subjects in the Higher Level (HL)  and 1  subject in the Standard Level (SL) ).
  • CIMP/ Indian Pre-U : 75% aggregrate for three subjects including chemistry.
  • American High School with Advance Placement (AP) : Min CGPA 3.00 for three subjects including chemistry.
  •  New Zealand Bursary : 76% for three subjects inlcuding chemistry.
  • UNSW : 65% aggregate for three of these subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Physics/ Maths.
