When choosing a university or college for design, it is important to look at the portfolio of the students’ work to see if the lecturers are able to guide them to a higher standard of work. Their portfolio would reveal a lot of things regarding the lecturers experience.
In addition, the number of awards won by the students and lecturers would also indicate the level of quality achieved. If the skills of the students were not good, then they would not be able to win awards. Therefore, the higher the number of awards, it would show the standard that the university or college have achieved.
Lecturers’ experience are of great importance especially in the area of design studies. This is because they are the ones who would guide and teach you on improving your design techniques. Make sure you visit the college and university and talk to some of their lecturers and check out their qualifications and work.
Facilities should be adequate for design students to use so that they can adapt to the conditions of the working world. Visit the universities to check out the Design studios, computers, Mac Labs, design software, and other design related facilities.

For example, a college may be famous for animation and multimedia but sometimes students make the wrong assumption that the college would be good for interior design as well.

Interior Architecture & Design, is it hard to find a job ? If I managed to find one, is the salary high?
And also multimedia design…the job is it low in salary?
If the salary is so low, then why are there so many students studying this course? The salary is average and you can make a living if you are good.
Malaysia is becoming more design conscious and the restaurants, businesses, banks, retail, malls, property groups, etc all require interior designers to make their businesses attractive to their clients. Salary is average.

You go to the Hypermarket and then you stand there and look. All the products there are made by Food Scientists. What do you think?
Im not sure if I want to study graphic design or marketing. Ive heard that it is tough to find a job if u study graphic design n even if u manage to find job, the pay is very low whereas marketing has more job opportunities
Graphic Design, if you are good, your salary will be good but it won’t be like very high. Marketing can be higher if you are well trained and possess a strong command of the English language. You have to choose what your passion is. If you go for money but there is no passion, there is no point. For more details, you can email me at info@eduspiral.com.my with your full name and mobile number.
What is the average salary for marketing and graphic design fresh grad? Do I have to be an outspoken person if I want to do marketing? What other jobs can I do when I study marketing besides direct sales?
The average salary for fresh graduates in Malaysia is RM2100. In marketing, you do not necessarily need to talk a lot, it is not sales. It is about strategy. Why would you work in direct sales with a marketing degree?? For more details, you can email me at info@eduspiral.com.my with your full name and mobile number.

what course should i take if i interest in lightning design? I don think i can find this kind of couse in Malaysia University.
That course is too specific and if you choose such a niche course, you may not be able to find a job if there is no opening. There is no such course offered in Malaysia. Closest is Product Design.
